![]() An alternative method is to use computer generated facial identities. They do not allow ‘the systematic parametric manipulation’ of specific facial identity features, for example: age, ethnicity and gender (Roesch et al., 2010, p.1). The drawback of such materials is that they lack of flexibility and controllability (Roesch, Tamarit, Reveret, Grandjean, Sander, & Scherer, 2010 Krumhuber, Eva, Tamarit, Lucas, Roesch, Etienne, Scherer, and Klaus, 2012). Research dealing with perception commonly relies on sets of standardized materials such as picture or photos which are most often produced by actor portrayals. Also, it addresses the reason why I use it instead of common static pictures/photos.
